If you are simply checking e-mail and browsing the web once in a while, a connection speed of up to 2 Mb may be more than enough. If you want to download videos or other heavy stuff regularly or have many users within your house, you may prefer a faster service. Some packages may have an element of usage charging where your monthly cost will vary depending on how much you use your broadband connection. Remember that if you sign up to a long contract, you may not be able to move to another broadband provider if you decide that a better deal is available.
